My rewatching of Dragonball Z has been pretty great thus far. The video files I got from my friend are of a decent quality, but have problems glitching out occasionally. I can purposefully do it by jumping around the slider which can give way to some pretty awesome and/or hilarious screens. I took these over the past few minutes and jumped around so much that the video actually slowed down when I tried to start watching it again.

I was listening to the Velvet Underground so I thought I’d glitch the iconic Andy Warhol cover.

The Sun is a Giant Nuclear Furnace and Will Swallow Us Whole Some Day No.2

A video from the NASA Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) website was databent using a hex-editor, then opened in QT.  The playback head was scrubbed to generate the frames from which this animation originated.  While animating the frames in GIMP, the color space was changed from Indexed to RGB with the Animation Preview filter running, which caused radical color shifts and other artifacts.

I heard about this design contest on Threadless for Bed Bath and Beyond and thought it would be a good way to push the design envelope a bit.

Shout out to Max Capacity and Daniel Temkin for design inspiration!

Video Stills

Whoa. These are my most favorite of your glitches so far. I would pay to have these hanging from my wall. Poster sized prints of the top and bottom ones would be amazing.

If you have a cat sleeping nearby, this will wake it up.

Also, it’s pretty awesome.

Macroblock Study 6

Interesting things found after databending Post number 38, replacing all “a” characters with “>” and then opening it in GIMP.
